Job Description

Daily Nanny – Travel – G4, G6 & G7.5 + B9 – Holland Park

A busy family living in Holland Park is looking for an educationally focused nanny to join their household and help care for their children. On a full-time basis, you will be responsible for three girls aged 4, 6 and 7.5 (in the school holidays their son age 9 will be at home from boarding school). The family also have an older daughter aged 14 who will spend half her school holidays with the family and half with her Mother.

They are an active family who have busy schedules and require a nanny who is on the ball, organised, enthusiastic and bright. A nanny who has experience working in a school and with school-aged children is important to the family (Qualified Teacher Status or Teachers assistant exp is preferable).

This role requires absolute flexibility. In term time, you would usually be required to work roughly 50 hrs, however, the hours required may need to be varied depending on the family’s needs. In school holidays and when travelling these hours will increase. The family will pay a competitive salary, depending on the individual’s qualifications and experience.
The nanny will be responsible for school runs, afterschool activities, homework help, educational support, admin/pa tasks whilst the children are at school and if the nanny is a confident cook this would be an added bonus.

The family spend 6 weeks of the summer in the Hampton’s, usually one-week skiing in Winter and another 1-2 weeks away during the year. They also have a small, young dog. A driver is essential. This is a shared care role with Mum.

The rough outline of hours in term time would be 3 days working 12 midday – 7:30 and two (this requires absolute flexibility though, some mornings the Mum can do the school run on her own and you won’t need to start so early, occasionally you will be needed). Additional hours and days when travelling and in the school holidays as well as occasional babysitting. This role is available as a live-in position for the right Nanny.

A commendable reference is available on request from the outgoing Nanny – a Qualified Teacher.

It is essential for the ideal candidate to have past experience working as a live in nanny. Nanny should be comfortable with a small dog (as there are plans to get a dog in the near future).

The family hope to find a nanny who can delicately balance the needs of an active little girl who has a busy schedule and is engaging in a wide range of activities, while ensuring that nanny attends proactively to the changing needs of their youngest child. There is a well-established nanny network in the area and so a nanny who would be motivated to connect with other nannies and charges, in order to get out and about would be essential. As in many European suburban towns of beautiful cosmopolitan cities, a little pre-planning and a self-starter is required in order both develop and maintain a great social life with a lot of international nannies placed in this area (many by this agency). A confident and sociable person, and possibly a driver, would be ideal in order for nanny to take the baby to nearby groups, his local swimming pool a couple of times per week, the grandparents who are a short trip away and to visit mum at work from time to time.

Mum and dad would like their little boy to be supported to grow up and be as independent, respectful, outgoing and as well-mannered as possible. If you are a strong, fit and established career nanny that is open to a new long term opportunity in a glorious European location with a lovely family, then please apply.
