Job Description

Position: German teacher/tutor on retainer yearly salary.

Location: Based London with International travel

German Tutor/Teacher required for a toddler (born Nov 2015) and a baby (Born June 2018). The father is German American and mother French, but the family lives in London. They are based in Notting Hill and  frequently travel in Europe, especially to France (Paris & South of France) and Germany (Frankfurt) where they have homes, as well as international travel.

There is a very friendly team of 4 nannies on rota in place to help care for the boys in a mix of sole and shared care.

The German tutor joining in would aim to teach German to the boys, from introducing the language to ideally achieving fluency over the course of a couple years. This should be done using fun and engaging play. Making sure the children have a good time, enjoying learning the language. Hence teaching should be imaginative in introducing words and speech in German in an entertaining context, through games and play.

The tutor should be extremely friendly, warm, very affectionate, patient, and must absolutely adore children and be excited to teach them German and introducing them to the German culture. Part of the children learning will include family trips to Germany along with the tutor for practical language immersion, visiting cities and towns, experiencing cuisine, etc.

The retainer rota will include about 8-10 weeks a year traveling with the family. Plus a few hours x 2 to 3 days a week teaching through play, visits to museums, joining play dates with other German speaking children or German art/music etc children groups.

When traveling the family will offer private accommodation.

The German tutor must show initiative as to fun activities for the children conducted in German, and be able to work well within a team in shared and sole care, along with parents and other nannies.

If you are a very sweet person with a love of teaching young children and a sense of fun, you will be a great match for this family.

Part-time Nanny – Boy 3yrs & Boy Twins 1.5 yrs – Holland Park

A busy family with three boys is looking for a part-time nanny to help care for them when they finish nursery. The older boy is at nursery until 5:30pm and the twins are at nursery in the morning. Their Mum is a stay at home mum so you will never be left with all three children together at once. It is very much a divide a conquer set up in their home.

You will be responsible for nursery picks (shared with mum), preparing snacks, cooking/meal prep for their dinner, cleaning up after dinner, ensuring the school bags are ready for the next day, buying bits and bobs for the house and general tidying/organising of the boy’s bedrooms and play areas.

Job Description

Daily Nanny – B11 & Twins B/G 8yrs – Oct start – W14 – Driver essential

A lovely but very busy family are looking for a daily nanny to help care for their three children, boy/girl twins aged 8 and their older brother aged 11.

The children attend two different schools and share a school run with other families, so a driver is essential. You will use the family car.

They are active and love a competition (as all siblings do) so a nanny who is confident with school-age children, can be strict when necessary whilst still being fun is also essential.

Their ideal nanny will be a third parent. Helping with homework, organising groceries, making breakfast and packed lunches, packing school bags, preparing uniforms, keeping kids’ rooms clean, changing the children’s bed sheets, organising activities and playdates, and potentially even walking the dog (if Mum finally caves in and gets one). The kids are also at an age where it’s time to encourage them to be more independent and helpful around the house.

As the children will be in school for most of the day, a nanny who is happy to do a few loads of washing and ironing is essential as well as odd bits around the home, such as organising/rotating toys from the basement or culling out old clothes from the wardrobes.

Another priority for the family is that their nanny enjoys cooking. Trying out new meals, baking with the kids, experimenting with recipes and introducing new foods is really important. Mum and dad work, and a nanny who could make some food a couple of times a week for them to eat when they get home would be a huge bonus!

The family have a cleaner who comes twice a week who has been with the family for 15 yrs and is a dear friend.

During term time the family would ideally like the nanny to work two short days of 1pm – 7pm and three long days of 8am – 7pm. In the holidays they will maintain a 45 hr week, however, the hours/days might change.
